Sue Goodwin

Who is Sue Goodwin……

I have been working in estate since 1978. I was born and raised in Frederick County, VA and have watched it’s growth.  I was licensed in Virginia in December 1988 and then licensed in WV in 1991.  I received my VA Broker’s license in June 2013 and my West Virginia Broker’s license in April 2022.  I have worked my whole career in the real estate industry.  I worked at Turner Carruthers & Parks, a law firm in Leesburg, VA for an attorney that worked Land Use cases in 1992 and at a Title company in Winchester in 1993.  I have been an Office Manager for many years as well as a successful REALTOR® and feel that I have an understanding of the needs of the agents.  I feel my experience would be a benefit to our BRAR members and I would love the opportunity to serve on the Board of Directors.  I have been a member of the Blue Ridge Association of REALTORS from 1988-1991 and then from 1994 – present.

Leigh Phillips

Who is Leigh Phillips…

I am originally from Dallas, TX and moved to the Shenandoah Valley in 2011.  I was a teacher for years, but was always interested in Real Estate, spending my morning coffee pouring over new listings.  In 2017, I decided it was time for a change and pushed myself out of my comfort zone to follow that passion.  It has been a crazy ride through Covid and market madness, but I wouldn’t change it for the world.

I just served on the SPCA of Winchester’s Board of Directors, animals being my other passion.  We accomplished some amazing things in the past three years, I couldn’t be more proud of the work that was done.  I still serve on many committees for the SPCA, not completely ready to step fully away from that organization and all the good work they do.  I currently serve on the Events Committee for BRAR and boy do we have fun!

I would love to have the opportunity to serve on the Board of Directors for the Blue Ridge Associate of Realtors.  I believe that my “newness” as an agent will bring a different energy and prospective.  My goals for BRAR are not only to provide support to all the wonderful agents in the area, but to help them understand the benefits of being a  member, let us grow together.

Jeanne Mezzatesta

Who is Jeanne Mezzatesta……

Thank you for this opportunity! I’m excited to apply for one of the 4 available Board positions on the BRAR Board. Here’s little bit about me and why I’m interested:

I’m a native of Winchester and the growth of our community is important to me. I’m a John Handley High School graduate (which I proudly show all out of town clients when visiting), and after my college years at WVU and a 5 year stint in the Santa Fe NM area, moved back here in 1996 to marry and settle. I’ve raised an almost 18-year-old daughter here with my husband, also a native.

With an education in communications and marketing, I spent a decade in outside advertising sales and marketing here in the region, then worked in the nonprofit sector as a fundraiser/development director overseeing a staff of 7. These former careers lend well to the real estate industry and provide a solid basis for working with people, envisioning ways to best reach potential clients increase exposure for this area, and allow me to share my passion for The Valley! I’d like to share these strengths with BRAR.

If I could make a living as a volunteer, I WOULD! I currently run a 501c3 – Cheers! to Charity, serve on an advisory board at F&M Bank, and have served on boards at the Evans Home, Blue Ridge Hospice, and ran a Saturday soup kitchen at First Presbyterian Church for years. It gives me great pleasure to give back both my time and effort. I’m a do-er…one of those 20% that actually does the work!

I’m newer to this industry, having been a licensed Realtor for just 19 months. I’ve had great success and work hard to give my clients enjoyable real estate transactions. I answer my phone and return calls! It has amazed me what I see in our local real estate industry. I’d love to MAKE A DIFFERENCE in both the agent interactions, involvement with BRAR, outreach, and training options. I’m not afraid to have hard conversations, initiate change, and work with others to better our local market and industry. I’d like to see more buyers and sellers have positive feedback about the work we do here in our community and make  BRAR SHINE!

Donna McInturff

Who is Donna McInturff…..

I received my real estate license in February 2012 and began my affiliation with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices PenFed Realty in Winchester. I am currently a licensed realtor in Virginia and West Virginia. I have a background in finance, market analysis, briefing presentations, administrative procedures, housing loan application development, and the preparation of legal documents that I acquired during my federal service career with USDA (Farmers Home Administration, later Rural Housing) and the US Army Corps of Engineers.

While at USDA, I met and worked closely with many realtors and saw firsthand their dedication to their profession, their clients and their communities. It was very gratifying to help someone become a homeowner.

The mission and the working environment in the US Army Corps of Engineers was quite different from that of the USDA. I worked within a military and civilian organization whose engineering projects were all outside the US. I worked with military personnel and learned firsthand the challenges they faced moving from one duty station to another. During my federal career I have served as a project manager, a program manager, chaired and served on numerous committees.

I have a BS in Management and Organizational Development. I have a Pricing Strategy Advisor Certification, an Accredited Buyer Representative Designation (ABR), and I am working on my GRI.

I believe my experience and education have positioned me to be a successful realtor and contributing member of the Blue Ridge Association of Realtors Board of Directors.
