You must complete four modules:

• Real Estate Brokerage (45-Hours)
• Fundamentals of Real Estate Appraisal (45-Hours)
• Essentials of Real Estate Finance (45-Hours)
• Real Estate Law (45-Hours)

Other Requirements:
• Complete 180-hours of Board-approved Pre-License Courses, and
• Pass the PSI Virginia Examination for Brokers, and
• Be actively engaged as a salesperson for 36 of the 48 Months preceding application, and
• Have your Broker complete the verification experience form

Brokerage

45-Hours

Get the tools you need to establish and manage a successful real estate brokerage firm. Learn how to become a leader and manage by improving communication skills; planning, organizing your office; understanding ethics, finances, marketing and advertising; hiring and directing your staff; tips for monitoring your operations; risk management and more. Students will form groups and create a real estate firm from the ground up then present their project to the class at the end of the course.

Finance

Learn about various loans; investments; the technological environment; the nature and cycles of finance; monetary systems; secondary mortgage market; FHA, VA and conventional loans; processing and closing loans; and how to use a financial calculator.

Appraisal

45-Hours

Fundamentals of Real Estate Appraisal is a practical way to learn the principles and procedures behind the major approaches to valuing real estate. The text assumes no prior knowledge of appraising and includes the vocabulary and techniques that will enable the student to continue at a more advanced level, if desired.

Law

45-Hours

This course will teach you legal guidelines for all stages of the transaction.  We will cover:

Nature of real estate law, Legal interests in real estate, Purchase agreements, Closing the transaction, Financing the transaction and Government regulation, Environmental laws, Liens, Mortgages, Deeds of trust and more..

Students will have a project of picking a settlement company and following the process from receipt of contract to the final funding.
